A useful CRM comparison starts with the work agents actually do. We examine workflows, not vendor taglines, and separate what a product says from what our research has independently verified.
CRMRanks is building its first Top 5 shortlist. Trezly and Ottodesk.ai are the first two products under review. Their product verification and editorial ratings are in progress; no scores or ranked winners have been published.
What we investigate
Our research framework is designed around practical fit: contact and relationship workflows, listing and prospecting work, follow-up and automation, everyday usability, integrations and team collaboration, implementation considerations, and transparent value. These are research areas—not claims that any particular product includes a feature.
We look for current primary-source documentation and, where possible, corroborating evidence. We record source links, check important details against the vendor's own materials, and label unknowns rather than filling gaps with assumptions.
Scores come later
A product will receive a CRMRanks score only after the relevant evidence has been gathered and evaluated consistently. We do not assign scores, review counts, awards, or placements based on vendor marketing alone. Until that work is complete, each profile is clearly marked under review.
The shortlist will have five places. Three are deliberately reserved for future research; an empty place is more honest than an unsupported recommendation.
Independence and limits
Editorial judgments are separate from any commercial relationship. If we introduce compensated links or other commercial arrangements, they will be disclosed clearly and will not buy an editorial score. Product capabilities, terms, and pricing can change; verify current details with the vendor before making a decision.
